After you receive your notice of discharge from the Bankruptcy Court, there are certain types of debt that will be discharged; In other words, there are certain types of debt that you will no longer be responsible for paying back to creditors.\u00a0 While there are some types of debts that cannot be discharged, filing a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy will wipe out a majority of your unsecured debt.<\/p>\n

The vast majority of people filing for bankruptcy are trying to get rid of credit card debts, and thankfully, Chapter 7 will succeed in clearing most credit card debts.\u00a0 The only exceptions to this statement are if the case involves fraud or if the debtor purchased luxury items immediately before filing.\u00a0 However, if neither of those two situations apply, credit card debt will be discharged.<\/p>\n
